Monica’s Profile

Dr Monica Henry has developed a unique system, which she calls Harmonic Medicine (HM), which is based on Dr. Paul Nogier’s discovery, the Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS). HM is a quick and simple clinical method of assessment of health status. In the initial consultation, food, chemical and environmental sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, pH, presence of underlying pathogens, toxicity, and organ and endocrine function are all appraised. The determination of therapies is highly specific to the individual and only treatments that resonate with the patient are recommended. This is assessed by the pulse response to a remedy. i.e. Magnesium could be indicated but only one type of a possible 20 may be suitable for any given individual. Main therapies are nutritional supplements, herbs and energised flower essences. Prescription medication, including bio identical hormones, are prescribed where indicated.

Monica has discovered that the VAS can also be used to monitor the direction of energy in a healing capacity. She focuses on the human energy system with special attention given to chakra function and energy blockages.. Regardless of how chronic or serious an illness may be, one’s quality of life can be enhanced. We all strive for balance and insight in our lives and Harmonic Medicine can help to define the way.

Monica was educated in Tasmania and graduated from The University of Tasmania Medical School in 1978. She spent her intern year at the Royal Hobart Hospital and then travelled overseas for 6 months before returning to Tasmania for a year with the Family Medicine Program.

In 1980 she obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, then moved interstate for a brief term in the snowfields before joining the resident staff at the Gosford District Hospital in NSW. She returned to her home state in 1982 where she worked as a locum and in Emergency Medicine in between having her two children. She went on to work in Family Planning and in 1984 joined a General Practice as an Associate. When she observed her infant son’s deteriorating health and realised that conventional medicine had little to offer, she looked to integrative medicine for answers. She studied acupuncture and trained with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. It was during this training course that a colleague introduced her to Nogier’s Pulse Test. Utilising this method she was able to determine her son’s food sensitivities and turned his health around. In 1988 Monica transferred to Victoria where she currently works on the Mornington Peninsula.

Last year Monica and her partner purchased land in Tasmania and are planning to relocate in May 2009. In August Monica wrote an article for a local Alternative Health Newspaper, entitled “Monica’s Medicine”, where she described her work and invited Health Practitioners to contact her regarding training in Harmonic Medicine. The response was overwhelming. She has since held several workshops, training those Practitioners who she believes capable of mastering the technique. Participant feedback has been very positive, and she hopes that these workshops will continue once she moves to Tasmania.
